Starting from Haridwar, the journey takes you via Barkot, Uttarkashi, Guptkashi, Kedarnath, Badrinath and Rudraprayag, offering darshan at each Dham along with beautiful views of rivers, valleys and snow-clad peaks. This well‑planned road itinerary combines comfortable hotel stays, temple visits, moderate trekking and scenic driving days, making it an ideal spiritual journey for families, senior citizens and devotional groups beginning their yatra from Haridwar.

Day 1: Haridwar to Barkot
The Char Dham Yatra begins in Haridwar, where you meet the tour representative and start your drive towards Barkot through the scenic foothills of the Garhwal Himalayas. On arrival you check in at the hotel and relax for the evening, allowing time to acclimatize and prepare for the Yamunotri visit the next day.

After a brief stop at Jal Mahal, we'll continue our journey to the majestic Amber Fort. Nestled on a hilltop, this 16th-century fortress is a stunning example of the harmonious blend of Hindu and Mughal architecture. Our expert guide will take us through its grand palaces, serene courtyards, and lush gardens, bringing the rich history of Amber Palace to life with captivating stories.

Day 2: Barkot – Yamunotri Darshan – Barkot
After breakfast you drive to Janki Chatti or Phoolchatti and then trek towards Yamunotri, the sacred source of the River Yamuna. You can take a holy dip in the hot spring near the temple, perform darshan at Yamunotri and then trek back to Janki Chatti before returning by road to Barkot for an overnight stay.
Day 3: Barkot to Uttarkashi
On this day you leave Barkot and travel to Uttarkashi, a major pilgrimage town situated on the banks of the Bhagirathi River. En route you may stop at Shiv Gufa, and after reaching Uttarkashi you typically visit the Kashi Vishwanath Temple before checking in at the hotel to rest.

After visiting Hawa Mahal, you will have lunch at a local restaurant, where you will have the opportunity to taste authentic Rajasthani cuisine, including dal bati churma, laal maas, and ker sangri.

Day 4: Uttarkashi – Gangotri – Uttarkashi
An early morning departure takes you to Gangotri via the beautiful Harsil Valley, with possible stops at Gangnani, known for its hot spring. At Gangotri you bathe in the holy Ganga, offer prayers at the Gangotri Temple and spend some peaceful time in the mountain surroundings before driving back to Uttarkashi for the night.
Day 5: Uttarkashi to Guptkashi
The journey continues from Uttarkashi to Guptkashi along winding mountain roads, often following the Mandakini River for part of the way. On arrival in Guptkashi you may visit the Ardh Narishwar Temple and then check in at the hotel, resting ahead of the Kedarnath sector of the yatra.
Day 6: Guptkashi – Sonprayag – Kedarnath
After breakfast you drive to Sonprayag and then take a local shared jeep to Gaurikund, the starting point of the trek to Kedarnath. From Gaurikund you either trek the approximately fourteen kilometre route or use a pre‑booked helicopter service from nearby helipads, and on reaching Kedarnath you visit the Kedarnath Temple and stay overnight near the shrine.
Day 7: Kedarnath to Guptkashi
The day starts with morning darshan at Kedarnath Temple before you begin the descent back to Gaurikund by trek, pony or palanquin. From Gaurikund you return by local jeep to Sonprayag, meet your driver and continue to Guptkashi, where you check in at the hotel and relax after the return journey.
Day 8: Guptkashi to Badrinath
Leaving Guptkashi, you drive towards Badrinath via mountain towns such as Joshimath, enjoying impressive views of valleys and snow‑clad peaks. After checking in at the hotel in Badrinath you visit Tapt Kund for a ritual bath and then attend the evening aarti and darshan at Badrinath Temple.
Day 9: Badrinath to Rudraprayag
In the morning you can complete darshan at Badrinath and, if time allows, explore nearby spiritual spots before starting the drive to Rudraprayag. The route offers views of important confluences such as Vishnuprayag, Nandprayag and Karnaprayag, and you stay overnight in Rudraprayag near the meeting point of the Alaknanda and Mandakini rivers.
Day 10: Rudraprayag – Rishikesh – Haridwar
The final day takes you from Rudraprayag back towards the plains, travelling via Rishikesh and onward to Haridwar. Depending on time you may visit famous ghats, temples and suspension bridges in Rishikesh before reaching Haridwar for drop at your hotel, railway station or bus stand, marking the completion of the Char Dham Yatra 9N/10D from Haridwar.
